Dear Praying Amigos,

Saturday Morning Soccer

Some people say: “God Must Be Brazilian”(because of Brazil’s ability to win so many World Cup Championship in Soccer.  If people think that way, why not use soccer to teach people about Jesus Christ?  Well that is what we are doing in the new outreach that we started last month. 

On Saturday mornings our Brazilian assistant pastor is teaching junior aged children soccer techniques.  About half way through the activity, we stop and give Bible devotional telling the children of God’s love for them.   Since we started this ministry, we have seen our Sunday School attendance increase as well as families coming to church to our Sunday evening evangelistic services.

Too Sick to Feel Bad

In February, Geri and were down and out with colds.  I was down two weeks with pneumonia and am just now getting my strength back.  Continue to pray for Geri as she is still not over whatever she had.  Thank you for your prayers while were going through all of that.

Advanced Discipleship Course

In March we started an Advanced Discipleship course that covers the Life of Christ.  Pray for the people that are doing the course and for their spiritual growth. 

Yodeling Club

In February we started we choir practices to start having our church choir singing for our services.  Pray that they Lord will give us some accomplished musicians that will be help us advance our music program in the months to come.

New Church to Start in Six Months

In less than six months, on October 6, 2007 at 7PM we will be starting our next church.  We praise the Lord for the special offerings that we received in February 2007 for this work.  So far the Lord has brought in $3,700.00 for this work.  Currently, our greatest need is the rent for the first year.  Rent in the area is about $225/month for a commercial building.  12 months rent at $225/month is $3,000.00 for the year’s rent.  Our goals is to get this church up and growing, then in a few years we will look at building a permanent building for them on land we already have purchased.

Set Up for New Church

100 Chairs @ $22 each =       US$     2,200.00

Rent   $250/month x 12 =       US$     3,000.00

Overhead projector, et all=     US$       300,00

Pulpit, communion tables =    US$         250.00

Other set up costs/ advertisement US$            1,000.00

Total                                      US$     6,750.00
